Theatre

Pollitos offers drama classes for children from the age of three. This activity aims to introduce children to theatrical language through play and communication. The objective is to enhance the children's creativity while developing their imagination through the different characters and games.

The classes will also serve as a tool to improve communication, socialisation and teamwork. The atmosphere of the lessons is casual and fun, aimed at encouraging creative, artistic and personal development through games and improvisations.

In addition to linguistic and social development, we will work on:
  • Dissociation: work on the ability to do more than one thing simultaneously with our body.
  • Rhythmic: train your musical ear and investigate how to follow someone else's rhythm and how to listen to your own.
  • Perception: of the own body, of others, and the room.
  • Senses: stimulation of the five senses.
  • Body expression: understanding how to listen to our body to take care of it and use it as a tool for expressing and communicating.
  • Vocal training: learning to use our voices to improve our capacity for expression without harming our vocal cords.
  • Group coordination: working and collaborating with others, sharing ideas and developing them together.
  • Creativity: develop the capacity for imagination and how to stage it.

At the end-of-year party of Pollitos, the group will perform a theater show. This way, children experience not only the expression that theater gives them in a classroom but also how to create a show: repetition in the rehearsals, and the creation of a character, among other things. Also, they live the experience of performing their play in front of the public, with all that this implies.

Mariana, first level teacher in drama teaching

Mariana was born in Patagonia, Argentina and moved to Denmark in 2019. She is an actress and drama teacher with more than ten years of professional experience. Mariana has a five-year degree in Performing Arts from the National University of the Arts (UNA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She also has complementary training in pedagogical and communication techniques.

As an actress, she has extensive experience acting on stage and in front of the camera for commercials, series, movies, and more. As a theater teacher, Mariana has a vast experience teaching theater classes and teaching a foreign language through the performing arts to children and adolescents.

Mariana is a creative professional with a deep passion for the arts and a focus on making the world a better place. She enjoys traveling, reading, writing, yoga, baking, and spending time with friends and family.

I went from being an embarrassed girl from a town in Patagonia to becoming an actress without fear of the stage or exposing herself to large groups. I want to pass on the tools that helped me value myself, my voice, and my body and cultivate my abilities to the new generations.

My international life and professional experience gave me the capacity to work with people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. But working with children and adolescents is my great passion because of their freshness and ability to challenge themselves.

Theater classes are not simply about learning how to perform on stage. Training with dramatic tools improves our quality of life. I base my proposal on developing the children's perceptions and teaching them to hear each other in all possible ways. It makes us better artists, but above all, it makes us better people since we can function easier in society.
